Our Philosophy

The Holistic Practice

In Dr Pope’s neurosurgery practice, we abide by the core principles of beneficence (doing good), and non-maleficence (doing no harm). That is an important part of the Hippocratic Oath, where doctors promise to always help people.

We believe in the principle of autonomy (letting the patient make the decision once fully informed), and we strive to guide the patient to make the best decision in their best interests.

We endeavour to provide the very best of healthcare in diagnosing, evaluating, investigating and treating each and every patient.

We use technologically-advanced methods and modalities to maximise benefit and reduce risk. We believe in educating patients about their conditions to optimise the decision-making and treatment processes.

Our aim is to provide a service where we listen, evaluate, and then offer recommendations for investigation and treatment. Where appropriate, we try to practice a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
